At football, Lancashire scored one goal and six tries to New Zealand’s two goals. There was a small attendance. The passing of the Lancashire outsides largely accounted for tho score.

AUCKLAND, Jan. 18.
Apropos of the proposal of the Management Committee of the Auckland Rugby Union to include a senior team from Auckland University into tho district systom of football, the secretary of the Auckland University College Football Club, writes:— “It is now practically settled that our club will play a senior team under the auspices of the Auckland Rugby Union during the coming season.” The feeling in football Circles is one of satisfaction, for it is plain to all that football hero needs some new element to add interest and to bring out fresh players. At present it looks as if tho varsity will not disgrace itself, for a fairly strong team should ho selected from the hundred odd enthusiastic students For somo time communications have been received from Sydney University, inviting a New Zealand University team over to Australia for tlio season of 1908. Tho movement is well on foot, and has received strong support from the colleges and universities on tliis side. It lias been suggested a team should leave Wellington on July Btli.
