WELLINGTON, Jan. 20

The R..M.S. Papanui, which arrived this morning from London via ports, brought some hundred and sixty passengers in the third class, including twenty-seven, to idiom assisted passages had been granted. The latter number includes five farmers, tbreo farm laborers, five domestics (none of whom are hooked for Wellington), and tho remainder are married, women who have come out to join their husbands. Three other passengers, whom the Health Officer requested to strip for a minute examination, were allowed to proceed. , “The general standard of the new arrivals,” said Mr. Darby, “is, if anything, above that of the usual arrivals, and indeed the stnnd>urd keeps steadily improving.”
