CRICKET ASSOCIATION
Tho usual weekly meeting of the Poverty Bay Cricket Association was held last evening at the British Empire Hotel, Mr. R. G. Hallamore presiding. Arrangements were completed for the matches against -the Tokomaru Club on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday next. Messrs. R. Thelwajl and .Rice were ‘appointed umpires tor the Thursday match, and Mr. G. \\:tt.v W«s appointed official scorer. It was decided to entertain tlie_ visitors at luncheon on Thursday at the Record .Reign Hotel, ami on Friday and Saturday at- the Royal Hotel. It was resolved that each member •of the team to visit Motu should deposit :t;2 for hotel and travelling expenses witli a manager appointed by the Association, and all players willing to make the trip are .vktal to intimate same to Mr. \V. Gibson before Saturday next, in order that a selection mav ho made.

•THE TOKO-MARI : MATCHES.. After the meeting the selectors, Messrs. Hallamore, Cary, Tholwall, McColl, and AY. Gibson, met and selected the following teams to play ■against, tlid _ visiting Tokomaru Club eleven at A'ietoria Domain on Thursday. Friday, and' (Saturday next: Thursday eleven: J. Lang, J. Gibson, H. AYack, D. -Miller, R. Grant, B. C. Baxter, Brown, . Grinlinton, Emanuel,_ Austin, Burke. Emergencies: Oliver, Dovle, and Sim.
Friday eleven: Glennie. F. Slurp Dudfield. Monk, Maude, Yeats. Coop, Bowman, Clapham, Moore. Hallamore.
Saturday eleven: Young, Lasker, Harker, Gorman, McColl. McConnell. AVhite, Charles, Babb, Judge, AV. Gibson. The matches will start each div at 10 a.m., and any player unable to take part is requested to ’nforin the Hon. Secretary (Air I. CL Grin-1-inton) at the earliest possible moment. 1
Five of the Tokomaru players arrived in town yesterday and put in practice at Victoria Domain in the afternoon. The following is the team:-AA”. Oates, J. Oates, G. Oates, J. Clay den,' R. Brown. Jordan, CL Jolly, L. Nelson. Rev. Robinson, and C. Fairlie, and two more place. ; are expected to reach town to-day, hut it is not known who they will he. The visitors are reported to be exceptionally strong in bowling, hut have only a. moderately strong hatting side.
