NO LICENSE LEAGUE

Tho monthly meeting of-tho NoLicense League was helu at tho AYesloyan Schoolroom last evening, Present: Messrs J. Somervell (in tho chair), A. Graham, J. Peckovcr, D. Alorico, G. E. Darton, G. Alorice, H. Ingram, and several others.

Mr. C. Palk forwarded a written statement that lie had delivered somo hundreds of copies of the Home Journal. Tie was at To Karaka, hut was unable to proceed further owing to wot weather. He loft yesterday for To Arai.

The report was adopted. It was decided to write tho Alliance regarding tho organiser. Tho Rev. F. C. Long forwarded his resignation as secretary of the League, as ho was leaving tho district. Air. Graham moved that tho resignation be accpted with regret, and that tho thanks of the League for his services be put on record. Air. Peckovcr seconded tho motion, saying that lie and others regretted his departure. - Tho motion was carried lyAir. Darton urged the League to be up and doing. He suggested that Air. Ingram bo appointed interim secretary. Air. Ingram stated his willingness to act as interim secretary, and ho was -appointed. Air. Darton wanted to know what was being done for the coming fight. Ho moved that tho League apply to tho Ahiauco for tho block plans of tho district to get the organisation under way.

A discussion took place on the subject of the organiser, and Air. Peckover suggested that a telegram should bo sent the Alliance for a man to replace Air. Palk. This was decided upon. There was difference of opinion as to tho boundaries of the electoral districts, and Air. Peckover suggested that complete maps should be procured .

It was thought desirable that an executive meeting should bo held at once to meet AL-. Palk to obtain details of tlie work done. -Air. Darton remarked that tho executive should meet oftener than tliov did.

After passing accounts, tho meeting adjourned.
