UNIVERSITY SENATE.
Proas Association. WELLINGTON, Jan. 27. At a meeting of the University Senate resolutions were passed placing oil record tile Senates regret at the loss bv death of Sir James Hector Rev. J. C. Andrew, and Mr. W. D. Milne. At the University Senate to-day a long discussion took place on a motion bv Mr. Raumo that tlio Senate should seek power from Parliament to establish a degree of .Bachelor of Literature. Eventually the motion was carried.
