THE WAIROA TRACEDY.
” JEALOUSY THE CAUSE. Press Association. WAIROA, Jan. 28. There are no additional particulars concerning the Opouiti tragedy. At the inquest evidence was given according to the former wire, and a verdict was returned that Irwin died by a gunshot wound self-inflicted during temporary insanity. Unfounded jealousy is supposed to be tho cause. The injured mail is progressing satisfactorily. The weapon used was not a revolver, hue a fowling-piece, which was deliberately re-loaded after each shot.
