Games in the Bennett Cup and championship medal competition aro oeing played off rapidly. On Tuesday evening M. Neill met B. Hiril. Neill secured a lead from tile start, but. liird made the score 5 all on tlio 7th head, and they were again level on the 9th—6 all. Hird, drawing well, was 13 to his opponent’s 9 on the 16th head, and, keeping his lead, won by 17 to 14. in his game with D. Hepburn yesterday evening, W. Ratcliit'e secured a lead from the start. He played a splendid game, and led throughout, being 14 to 8 on the 15th head,, and eventually winning by 21 to 12. W. J. P. Gaudin had W. 0. Skeet in difficulties from the beginning of their game. Gaudin played extremely well, and led on the 10th head by 11 to 5, winning with some fine driving by 24 to 12. The game betwen A. Sawyer and M. G. Nasmith, jun., was a good^ one. On die otli head Nasmith led by 5 to 3. and, drawing well, was 16 to o on the 14th head. On the following bead Nasmith lay 4, hut Sawyer with his last, bowl carried the jack and lay 3. On the 18th head the score was ] 0 11 in Nasmith’s favor. Nasnuth. scored three on the next head, putting the issue beyond doubt, and finally winning by 21 to 11. The games will be continued to-day.
