PERSONAL.

Mr T. W. Fisher, Under-Secret ary to the Native Department, arrived from -Wellington on Saturday on departmental business. Bishop Williams will be a passenger for England by the Corinthic, which leaves Wellington on the 27tli inst. On Friday morning the staff of Messrs Adair Bros, met lor the purpose of making a presentation to Mr T. Adair, who is not severing his connection with tho firm, but who is leaving on an extended holiday. The presentation which consisted of a silver tray suitably inscribed, was made by Mr Widdowson .the oldest member of the staff. After the ceremony the whole of the staff proceeded up tlio ■river by oil launch and picnicked for the rest of the day.
