THE LATE MR. F. W. GRIFFITHS.

THE FUNERAL. The funeral of the late Mr. F. W. Griffiths took place yesterday afternoon. Tlie cortege left the residence of Mr. Nicholls, and proceeded to Holy Trinity Church, where a full choral ceremony was , conducted by Mr. Sidebottom, a full attendance of the choir singing “Nearer My God to Thee” and “Lead Kindly Light.” The cortege then proceeded to the Makaraka Cemetery, the pall-bearers being as follows': —Mr. McGregor (Hopkins and Co., Auckland), Mr. It. \Y. Raymond (E. W. Mills and Co., Wellington), Mr. J. Coleman (Stewart Timber and Hardware Co., Wellington), Air. J. Lowe (Brailsford and Co., Wellington), Mr. M. Lewis (P, Hayman and Co., Auckland), Mr. Foote (Briscoe and Co., Auckland), M. Alley (Common, Shelton, and Co.), Mr. Parnell, Mr. Al’arley (Pahiatua), Mr. Kretehniar (Partridge and Co., Auckland). Among the many wreaths forwarded were the following : —Lodgo Oliinemuri, M.U.1.0’.0.F., Paeroa, Commercial Friends, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Martin, staff of the Gisborne Hotel, Mrs. Harney, Mr. L. B. tSherriff, Miss and Messrs. Do Costa, Messrs. A. and S. Coleman, Mr. H. Puflctt, members of the Holy Trinity Choir,. Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Quin, Miss Beeson,' Mr. and Mrs. Goffe. and members of the Gisborne Club.
