ATTEMPT TO MURDER KING ALFONSO.
BOMB EXPLODES PREMATURELY
KING RETURNS TO MADRID.-
United Press Association—Copyright (Received March .12, 11.37 p.m.) MADRID, March 12. Before daybreak yesterday bombs exploded at the Outer Quay at- Barcelona. Tho damage was slight, and the matter was concealed until night. King Alfonso visited tho Austrian squadron, and had luncheon aboard tho flagship. lie was repeatedly cheered in the workmen’s and other quarters of the city. lie returned to Madrid in the evening- ... (Received March 12, 9.51 p.m.) The bomb, winch was loaded, with a powerful explosive, and filled with pieces of iron, was placed in the sowor under the landing stage from whence King Alfonso intended to start 011 his visit to the Austrian squadron. The explosion was premature Everyone who heard it attributed it- to the firing of a gun from a warship. Had the crowd been on tho stage, many would have been killed. Two arrests have, been made.
