FEILDING STOCK SALES. Press Association. FEILDING, March 13. Twonty-two thousand sheep wero yarded at tlio Feilding weekly sale today. This is not a record for the yards, but is well above the average. The increased entry was a result of the riso in price at last week’s sale. FLAX-MILLING INDUSTRY. Press Association. AUCKLAND, Alarcli 13. It is expected that fifty flaxmills in the Auckland district wiil be closed consequent on the slump in prices, reducing the number of persons employed in this industry by seven hundred. Tho price of flax to-day is £ls a ton lower than the price at this time last year. SHORTAGE OF GRASS-SEED. Press Association. AUCKLAND, Alarcli 13. Inquiries round the Auckland seed merchants to-day revealed the fact that grass-seed stocks, with the exception of rye-grass, arc almost bare. Tho demand, moreover, is said to be three times as much as in former years. The chief rise in prices is in cocksfoot, tho wholesale cost- being 15s f.o.b. from the south. ANTWERP WOOL SALES. United Press Association—Copyright LONDON, March 12. Tlio Antwerp wool sales have opened without- animation. Merino wool has declined 5 per cent, and line crossbreds 10 per cent. Ordinary classes are neglected. There were 2358 bales of La Plata offered, and 992 sold.
