LADY FOUND IN AN UNCONSCIOUS CONDITION.

The “.Southland Times” correspmident reports that a painful sensation was mused at Luniden by tho finding of Mrs. Garthwaito, of Helmsdale, unconscious, and almost nude, about a quarter of a mile above the Mararoa bridge. The body was rigid, She had to be brought in in a railway trolly, and Dr. Mcllroy, who attended her, was himself taken suddenly ill. Dr. Watt arrived from Riverton, hut could not restore animation, and death occurred about 7 a.m. next morning at the home of deceased. Her clothes were found in a patch of willows, and there are indications that she had partially undressed and crawled to where she was found.
