BOWLING.

There are now 17 clubs affiliated to the local Bowling Association and a movement is on foot to further extend the functions of the Association in such a way that it is anticipated more than twenty clubs will be affiliated to the Association in the near future.

There was a large attendance at tho Gisborne Bowling Club’s green on Saturday, and some enjoyable games were played. The following are dome of tlie results’.— Redstone, Pavitt, Redstone, and Martin 18 beat Wilson, Clarkson, Hookey, and Ponsford 17. Semple, R. Johnston, Witty, and Simson 29 beat Paltridge, Steele, Bynall, and Cunningham 9. Kyme, Boulton, Hookey 19 played Hansen, Fordyce, and Coleman 23. A game in tlie Handicap Singles was- played, when F. Pettie (rec. 6) defeated!! 7 . J. P. Gaudin (rec. 1) 15. A number of members ! of the Turanganui Club gathered on the green on Saturday afternoon, and a few practice games were played. If the weather continues fine during the week the various. competition games will be resumed.

Press Association. DUNEDIN, March 28. It has been practically decided that at least four r.in'ks of the Dominion bowling team will visit Adelaide. NAPIER CARNIVAL TOURNAMENT. (Per Press Association.) NAPIER, March 29. In the final of the pairs games of the Carnival bowling tournament, Bull and Yates 22 beat Dean and Tabuteau 17. It is a coincidence that D. A. Miller, who played in the winning rink (St-. John’s) in the rink tournament, IV. J. Tabuteau, who skipped the winning rink for the citizens’ matches, and W. C. Yates, who played in' the winning rink of tho pairs matches, were all schoolmates at the Napier Grammar School in the early days.
