UNITED v. TE RAU

The fixture between the above clubs was continued on Saturday on the Domain. On the previous Saturday, To Ran in their first innings made 102, and at the close of play on that day United had lost'three wickets for 39 runs, with AV. Gibson, and J. Gib-' son batting.. These two not-out men resumed on Saturday, and were not separated (Until the telegraph showed 118, when AV’. Gibson was caught by Abidance off bis own bowling. The retiring batsman had played a most valuable innings 'for his side, and mado'his runs by sound, but somewhat slow, cricket. J. Gibson did not survive his partner for very Jong, as shortly afterwards, when his score was 75, he was bowled by Valla nee by a very short-pitched ball, which kept low.
