AUSTRALIAN POLITICS. MR DEAKIN WILL RESIGN A QUEEN SITUATION. United css Association—Copyright MELBOURNE, April 10. The political situation is causing much speculation. Ministers had a consultation and the Labor causus discussed the situation to-d'ay. Mi*. Deakiu and Sir'William Lyno also conferred with Mr. Fisher and Mr. Watson. Many rumors aro current. One is that Mr. Deakiu intends to retire and that Sir William Lyno will attempt to form a coalition administration with the Labor party. It is stated that strong pressure is being brought to bear upon Air. Donkin to induce him to take another view of the situation. MELBOURNE, April 11. Air. Donkin, the : Prime Minister, resigns on Wednesday. The caucus was a noisy gathering. Those who had brought about tho crisis Were taken to task, but stuck to their guns. Air. Cook, tho deputy leader of the Opposition, says: “This is one of th iso crisis which the Opposition had absolutely nothing to do but look on.”
