The U.S.S. Co.’s Manuka arrived from Auckland early yesterday afternoon, after .a quick passage. . She left for South again in the evening. Messrs. Richardson and Co.’s Toroa arrives from Napier this morning, and returns in the afternoon, taking tho volunteers for tho Easter manoeThe U.S.S. Co.’s Squall sailed for Auckland yesterday afternoon, taking 200 sheep. Some difficulty wa3 experienced in getting away_ from the wharf owing to the silt m tho channel, and for a time it was touch and go, as she refused, to answer her helm, but she eventually got away safely. The Westport Coal Co.’s s.s. Itegulus was brought in from tho roadstead yesterday mprning oil the early tide, after 60 tons of coal had been lightered. She negotiated, the, first part of the channel safely, hut when coming to her berth opposite No. 2 shed she stuck hard and fast, about 40ft from the wharf. All further efforts to shift her proved of no avail, and a long gangway was rigged up across a lighter, by which means a further quantity of her cargo was discharged. She eventually got alongside late in the afternoon. She ■leaves for Westport this afternoon. Discharging operations are in full swing on the Mary Isabel. Captain Schutze expects to be clear in about a fortnight, when tho vessel will sail in ballast for Whangape to load for Sydney, returning here in. about three months’ time. The a.s. Kaeo will sail for Boat Harbor to-morrow.

The U.S.S. Co,’s -Maitai arrives from South this evening, but will not be -able to get .away .for Auckland until to-morrow morning. Tbe Tuatea leaves the wharf at G a.m. The barquentine Senorita is duo from Newcastle, and is expected to arrive almost immediately. Both the schooner -Gisborne and the auxiliary schooner Kereru will probably sail North this morning. The N.Z. Shipping Co.’s R.M.S. Paparoa left Capetown oil Monday for Wellington.
