AMERICAN FLEET.
MAGNIFICENT RECEPTION TO BE GIVEN. SPECIAL ARRANGEMENTS AT AUCKLAND. Press Association. AUCKLAND, April 23. In order that the. touring fleet of the United States shall have a reception fitting to the occasion, Die flavor (Mr. A. M. Myers) -has convened a meeting of citizens for to-morrow afternoon for consideration of a course of action. Among the suggestions so ' far offered for the entertainment of our visitors are: Escort into port by a- flotilla of steamers and sailers; great official welcome by Parliament and the municipality; a visit of the officers and some of the men to -Rotorua ; a great Maori gathering in Victoria Park; a ball in the drill hall; an inter-provincial football match; a special -race meeting; an aquatic carnival; grand display by school children and cadets; a round of sight-seeing;-provision of club-house for sailors; provision of large information bureau for seamen ; arrangements for quickly converting American currency into firitish; special excursions to places of interest near the city; presentation of commemorative cards to each man of tlio fleet; arrangement of automobile trips.
