Stewart, an open game at the adjournment; Freeman beat James; Mason drew with Barnes; Connell beat Rutherford oil the thirteenth move. This game took sixteen minutes. Ivelling, a bye. Ninth round: Davies, a bye; James v. Fox; James is a knight and pawn un. Rolling v. Freeman, Rummer v. Mason, Barnes v. Connell, Rutherford v. Stewart, all adjourned. Freeman was indisposed, and Mason was suffering from a bad cold.
