FLOUR AND WHEAT. - Press - Association. DUNEDIN, May 12. News from Sydney of an advance of 5d per bushel in the price of wheat has precipitated a boom in local wheat. On Monday afternoon, upon receipt of the news from Sydney, 4s Bpi was refused lor a line of 1500 sacks, and the subsequent sale of this line was reported at 4s 9d. The next move cainte from the New Zealand Flourmillers Association, which decided upon an advance of £1 per -ton in the price of flour. This advance was received locally at midday to-day, and the advanco in flour was immediately reflected ill a further rise in wheat this afternoon, when 4s lOd on trucks at northern stations was refused for a lino of 100 sacks, 5s being asked. The market closed firm at 5s on trucks with very little offering, the majority of holders being content to watch developments. It is considered that tho advance in Sydney is due to drought conditions. ■ : AUCKLAND, May J2. By the rise in flour, Auckland will be affected to the extent of 12s 6d per ton.
