To aid this development-, our shipping facilities must bo improved and more frequent communication with outsido parts must bo sought. As a member of the Board for many years, my views on harbor matters generally no doubt are well known, to you. Suffice it to say now that if elected I shall soo that Mr. Marchant’s outer harbor scheme with all available information rotating thereto is placed before tlio ratepayers at as early a date as possible. THE HOUSEHOLDERS of the undermentioned School Districts having respectively failed to elect a School Committee upon the annual day of meeting, it is hereby notified in accordance with Section 114 of “The Education Act, 1904,” that the Education Board for the of Hawke’s Bay has appointed MONDAY, the 2otli day of May, 1908, as the time fo t r the nominations, and MONDAY, the Ist day of June, 1908, at 7.30 o’clock in the evening as the time for the election respectively of Committee for such undermentioned schools, and have also appointed the Schoolhouse in each District as the placo of meeting of householders. The number to bo elected to each Committee mentioned in the first schedule hereto is NINE, to those mentioned in the second schedule SEVEN, and to those mentioned in the third schedule FIVE. The householders within the several school districts are hereby cabled upon to send in writing to the respective Chairmen of the several School Committees, on or before MONDAY, the 25th day of May, 1908, by post or delivered so as to be delivered not later than 8 o’clock in the evening, the names of persons being resident householders nominated by them for election to servo upon the Committee for the year next ensuing, and after the meeting of householders the Committee elected shall hold its first meeting, and thereat elect one of its number to be Chairman for the year.
