Following on the telegram received from the lion. J. Carroll oil Wednesday evening, a meeting of the Railway League was held yesterday morning to consider what alteiations in the arrangements tdiouhl be mulde. There wore present: The President (Mr. J. Townley), in the chair, the -Mayor (Mr. \\. 1). Ly.snar), lion.'C'apt. Tucker, -Messrs \V. L. Bees, J. (Somervell, It. M. Birred, \V. Sievwright, J. Whin fay, AY. Pettie, A. F. -Matthews, and W. J. P. Gaudin (see.), and. Mr. Day (stationmaster).

Arrangements were then proceeded with, when it was decided that the .Ministers he entertained by the local bodies and members of the Railway League at 12.00, details for which to lie arranged by the Mayor, Captain Tucker, Mr. Townley, und Mr. Gaudm. A special train will leave town at 1.30, and return about 0 p.m. There will be special carriages for the Ministers and members of the local bodies, and any others desirous of attending the opening function will •have the. privilege of doing so, the return fares being 2s. Jt was also decided to hold a public meeting on Wednesday night, Die lime for which .will be announced later.

The stationmastcr (Mr. Day) says the local [Railway Department has decided not to run trains to Waikohu until Wednesday next. The first passenger train on the line will convey the two Ministers, the Hons. Car- 1 roll and McGow in, and the public will have the oportiinity of travel-, hug by that train at excursion rates. Oldiilary traffic to Waikohu will commence on Thursday.
