The ATsiting Committee stated that there was nothing to report. The estimates for tlio coming year were discussed, and Mr. Darton moved that- as tho convalescent natients got tlioir meals on the veraniTah, the Trustees should enclose a portion close to tlio dispensary. —Cr. charged. ~ Cr. Alattiiews seconded the motion, remarking that , tho price of living had gone up nearly 100 per cent. ‘ Air. Darton thought that it was not a move in tho right direction. Nearly 90 per cent, of the patients were not in good circumstances, and they wero the persons who would nave to suffer. There were numbers of people who used the institution who did Tucker considered that the treatment in public.hospitals en better than in private institutions If there were any patients who coukl not nav it did not matter what the charge was. He considered that the charge was entirely inadequate for ‘'’lhTirtta Mr’’Aliv’Darfcon moved, accordance with notice of motion, that any Vationt can call m an outside doctor to consult with the medical superintendent. In support of Ms resolution, Air. Darton reviewed the past state ef things, and said that he thought no harm would be dono espec.ady if the patient was prepared to pay the cost of the consultation. The picscn't position was that the consent of the "Trustees # had to be obtained, which necessitated delay. Tho motion lapsed for want of a seconder. TT Messrs F. -J. Lysnar and the Hon. Captain Tucker wero appointed a visiting conunitce for the ensuing month. Air.
