(Press Association.) DUNEDIN, May 26. A fire resulting in the destruction of a five-roomed house and the death of a child six months old occurred at Balclutha last evening. Mrs. Weir, wife of i coal merchant, who occupied Ue house, left the dwelling for a brief period to milk a cow. When she returned the house was in flames. The fire origimated in a back bedroom where .a fire had been, kept burning. owing to a boy three years old having a bail th Mrs.’ Weir rescued her three children, but tho baby was so badly burned about tho face, arms, and feet that she died this morning.
