CONFERRING OF DEGREES.

THE CHANCELLOR’S ADDRESS

(.Press Association.) AUCKLAND, May 29. The annual meeting for tlio conferring of degrees -and' tlio presentation of diplomas in connection with the Auckland University College district was held this afternoon, the Chancellor of tho University, (Sir Robert Stout) presiding. In the course of his address, the Chancellor urged that more attention be paid to study of sociology and agriculture and also advocated- the establishment of schools for journalists.

An address was also given by Lord Plunket.
