'The Huddart-Parker* Co.’s A r ictoria arrived from-Napier later than-usual on Saturday morning. Heavy rain in Napier on Friday interfered with the working-of curgo. She arrived hero about 7.30 a.m., and left for Auckland and Sydney about 1 p.m. Tho U.S.S.- Co.’s AVaikare arrived from Auckland yesterday afternoon. Gho had a fine passage as far.as East Capo, but from that point downward sbo experienced the full force of the strong southorly gale. She arrived in the Bay about 5.30. p.m., and was tendered on arrival. Considerable difficulty was experienced in transferring the passengers for this port, and tho Tiiatea eventually arrived back at the wharf at 8 p.m. The AVaikare had a considerable quantity of cargo for Gisborne, and the rough sea rendered it very difficult for the .lighters to be worked. It was expected to get the vessel away at an early hour this morning. The scow Rangi arrived in the Bay from AA'bitianga on Saturday night, and taking advantage of the southerly wind, sailed up the channel yesterday morning, getting alongside about 9 a.m. She left Mercury Bay at 11 a.m. on AVedncsday last, and experienced favorablo winds right down to the Cape. On rounding this point she fan full into the southerly gale, which continued until her arrival in the Bay. A very dirty night was spent lying out in the Bav on Saturday night, and members of the crew state ;it was one of the •worst experiences, they bad ever had. Her cargo consists of 33,000 ft of kauri, 2000 posts, and 23 tons of steel rails. Tho Rangi has not been in this port ‘for nearly twelvo months, having been engaged during that time in the AYellington-Karamea trade. The TJ.S.S. Co.’s Squall, from Auckland, passed East Cape early yesterday morning on her trip to Coast ports and Gisborno. She is expected to arrive here this morning,, and brings a large quantity of general cargo, including 200 packages of explosives, consigned to Messrs'Williams and Kettle.

Tho U.-S.S. Co.’s TTaupiri arrived in Auckland on Friday night, and haves there to-day for Coast , ports Gisborne, and Napier. The auxiliary schooner Kaco is at present working. Const ports, and is expected here shortly. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Co.’s Athenic left 'Lyttelton at 4 p.m. on Saturday, and is due here this mornill a to lead for London.

The U.S.S. Co.’s AA’aipori is expected this week from Newcastle with a ! full "load of coal.
