Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, June 4. Several of the backers of George Wlielch, the sculler, met at Akafoa last night to consider whether, pending the result of the Webb-Arnst race, it would not he advisable to accept the challenge issued by Durnan* the Canadian,tlie match to take place at Akaroa. Various opinions were expressed, and it was filially decided to defer decision for a fortnight to enable the supporters ip the outlying bays to he commmi'icated with as to their wishes on the matter.
