HOLY TRINITY CHURCH.
THANKSGIVING SERVICES.
The Church Festival will be completed on Sunday next by holding great Thanksgiving Services in the Central Parish Church, and also in the suburban schools of Mangapapa and Kaiti.
The Vicar informs us that by a curious coincidence there will be a double anniversary on Sunday, that of the opening of the Church and also the coming of the Vicar to Gisborne. In 1875, on or about Trinity Sunday, the present church was opened for divine service by the Bishop of Waiapu. In his address last Sunday tho \ icar gave some interesting details of the old days. All communicants in tlie district, especially those confirmed in tlie Parish Church in nast years, are asked to attend at one of the early celebrations.
Iu the afternoon at 2.45 there will be a special service for young people, to ylnch all children and adults are invited.
In the evening there will be.choral evensong and anthem. The Vicar lcs , to be regarded as a Church Rally, ami all residents, partically those who claim any allegianeo ,uc Church of Ktiglaiid, are heartilv invited. All seats in tho church will be thrown open for this service, and an overflow srvico will be held in the schoolroom by the Rev. F W Chattel-ton.
The Vicar of Gisborne occupies the pulpit morning, alternoon, and evening m the Church. ..There will be service at 7 p.m. iu the. KaiL and Mangapapa schools. At all services thank-offerings', will be. made on helmlf of. the church building fund l or central and suburban church extension.
