A curious fish specimen was hooked tho other day by Mr. H. Butterfield, boatswain oh tho Bluff Harbor Board launch. 'lt baffled it'ho ingenuity of the best authority in tho place, and was Kent on for classification by the curator of the Museum, Dunedin. The reply mado is that it is a rather fine specimen of the butterfly fish, and that, although not unknown in New Zealand waters, it is sufficiently raro to make it a welcome addition to tho exhibits.
