On tho second day out a sensational incident occurred. A steerage passenger, Conway, was seen to go overboard, and a boat was immediately lowered. Tho vessel hove-to for three hours while a search was made. The man was eventually found, but on reaching the vessel life was oxtinct. The deceased was buricil next morning.
