TROSPECRTVE CANDIDATES. [Special to “Times.”] WELLINGTON, Juno 16. In view of tiro Hou, Mr. Mills’ retirement from Politics, at all events in tho capacity of M.P., Mr. R. McArtiiey will probably bo selected as tho Government candidate at the next election. Mr. T. E. Heulicu Tubirio, chief of Ngatitutu Wliarotoa, states that ho intends contesting the Western Maori seat at tlie next clecton, at present represented by Henaro Kailiau. Asked whether he would bo a Government or an. Opposition candidate, he\replied with a smile. “Government-, of course. It is no use being anything else now.” Mr. Hculiou is a man with a long pedigree. He lives at Tukanu, on the shores of Taupo Mo ana. If Mr. Loudon stands for tlie- Taieri seat. I understand he will do so as a Liberal.
