Robinson was st Hiding on bis verandah when be was shot ilr-d. falling into Ills wife’s a phis. The shot apparently came from a neighboring house. 1 A constable went across to the residence of a miner named Pincombe. The latter snatched a gun and fired point blank at the constable, who had a marvellous escape. The constable shot Pincombe through the head. The man is supposed' t 0 be insane. He had been heard to express a dislike for the local clergy.
