THE NEW SULTAN
EXCITEMENT IN TANGIER

TANGIER, Juno 20. Tho people of Tangier also intend to proclaim .Mulai Hafid as Sultan. The authorities of Abdulaziz summoned all forces from outside to patrol the town with the object of preventing tho proclamation. There is great excitement in consequence of a rumor tint the French naval authorities intend to land a force to prevent an outbreak in the event of Mulai being proclaimed Sultan.

PARIS, June 20. The French Chamber of Deputies, by a majority of 217, endorsed the Government’s.Moroccon policy. Al. Pichon explained that if France was eventually compelled to recognise .Mulai Hafid he must acknowledge Prance’s rights and adhere to the Algeciras compact and pay damages done.
