Clnrko, Archbishop of Melbourne, presided at a Pan-Anglican meeting of 4000, which discussed monopolies. Other sections debated- the subjects of the -new fiction and present-day journalism. The Right Rev. G. 11. Frodsliani, Bishop of North Queensland, ploadod for more Christian work among Aus--tralian aboriginics. Mrs. Noligan give a sympathetic address on the New Zealand Maoris, whom she described as Irishmen with brown faces.
A brilliant .garden party took place at Windsor. Tlio King and Queen, Prince and Princess of Wales and children, Ambassadors, Ministers, and 8000 others attended. The metropolitan representatives at tho Pan-An-glican Congress were presented to tlio King. Tlio leading labor unions were represented. THE CHURCH’S RESPONSIBILITY CONVERSION OF NATIVES. United Press Association. Copyright (Received June 22, 10.30 p.m.) LONDON, June 22. The Bishops of Waiapu, Grafton, and Canon Groser spoke of the Church’s responsibility towards aborigines. Bishop Kennioii remarked that ono reason why conversions of the natives of North Australia were not more successful was because their language was in a constant state of fluxion. Converts were only able to instructtheir own tribe.
