In order to allay the uneasiness caused by the meeting of .King Edward and the Czar at Reva-1. the “Nieu Freie Presse” interrogated a number of prominent persons in -Britain, France, and Russia, upon tlio propccts of peace. A great majority, including Lord Curzon, replied that the international outlook was most peaceful. M. Ivhotiakoff. President of the Duma, replied tint war would be suicidal for Russia, therefore any fears in connection with a ra-pprocliment between Britain and Russia were groundless.
