A SHOOTING CASE.
TWO MEN SLIGHTLY INJURED. AN ARREST MADE. [Press Association.] GORE, June 22. A shooting incident, fortunately unattended by serious consequences,-oc-curred in Coro last; Wednesday, but information of it did not- roach tho police until Saturday afternoon, lhreo men visited the house of a man named Thurston, in East Gore, and it is understood that during tlio time they ■ were paying their visit Mrs Thurston, pursued by her husband, rushed into thoir"'presence, crying;.for help, and that one of .the visitors, S. Leahy, tein|H>rarily disabled Thurston. Leahy, accompanied by O. Swan, then lelt and Thurston, going into an adjoining room, returned with a gun, which lie fired after them, one of the men being bruised on the hip by tlio wad and tin; other receiving a pellet in the thumb. Neither man informed the police, who acted in consequence of public talk and arrested Thurston. Jle was brought 'before tlie Court charged with attempting to kill, aiid was remanded for eight days. Tho police mndo a search of his promises, and di. -covered eight bottles of whisky ami a quantity of other liquor. Six bottles of whisky wore found buried in the garden, and probably another charge as a mult of the, discovery will be made. v,
