THE CULVERDEN IESTATE.
EXAMINATION OF APPLICANT'S. A HEAVY TASK. ' A [Pkess Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, June 23. The part of the Provincial Buildings which is occupied by the Lands Department was thronged to-day by the applicants for sections oh the Culvenlen estate who are presenting -themselves for examination by the 1 Board. The scene in and about the buildings, particularly ‘.at the Durham Street entrance, was an animated oiic. It is considered that over 400 applicants will have t’o be examined in Christchurch, and the Land Board will have to hold very lengthy sittings in order to finish up on Thursday, evening. The law makes provosion that applicants from other districts may be examined by tlieir district Land Boards, and a large number of certificates from these Boards’ have already been received in Christchurch.
