HOCKEY.
P.B. HOCKEY ASSOCIATION. Tho usual weekly meeting of tlio Poverty Bay Hockey Association was held in the Royal Hotel last evening. 'Present: Messrs Garrett (chairman), Olsen, Lewis, Davy, Baker, Grant, and Sargisson.; A letter was received from Mr. Armstrong, referee in tlio West BudKin. Kalia match, re ordering a member from each team oil’ the field for rough play towards each other.—lt was decided to uphold the. referee’s decision and to endorse his remarks concerning there being too, much rough play in the games: It was resolved to caution the players mentioned, and to reinstate them. Information was received that Messrs Grundy and Shennan had kindly promised to make a shield for competition, and that Mr. Grieve had offered to ornament it with siller at a small cost.—-It was decided to leave the making of the shield in, the hands of the secretary and Mr. Grieve, the rules, etc., to he drawn up at a fulore date. The matches arranged for next Thursday are: Kia lvalia v. City, 2.15 p.m,; To Ran v. West End. 3.20 p.m. Messrs Roderick and Armstrong will referee.
