MEYNELL AND GUNN CO. The romantic story .of martial life by Walter Howard, entitled “Her Love Against the World” is the opening production of the Meynell and Gunn “Beatty-Mclnt-osh Company” at His Majesty’s Theatre oil July Ist when a season of four nights will be inaugurated. “Her Love Against the WorUV’will be played for two flights (July 1 and 2) and the historical costume play by Edward Fcrriss, entitled “A Beggcr on .Horseback” on July 3 and 4. No expense has been spared by Messrs. Meynell and Gunn in the production of these two dramas which will be brought to Gisborne and presented on the stage iii the same complete manner that characterised the productions in Melbourne, Sydney, and more recently in Auckland. The company is a largo one of forty members, beaded by the popular actor Harcourt Beatty. and.that splendid actress Madge Mclntosh, who came to Australasia with a big English reputation, and luis more than succeeded in justifying it. The stage direction is in the hands of that past master of stagecraft, Gaston Mervale, than whom thorn is none more capable on the Australasian stage. The management announce the opening of the box plan at Miller’s on Friday morning. when there should be a large demand for seats.
