A RISE IN WAGES.
.■WELLINGTON HARBOR BOARD EMPLOYEES. . [Press Association.] WELLINGTON, June 25. The Wellington Harbor Board decided to-day to increase various wages and salaries, amounting altogether to £1535 per .annum. Tally clerks and toll clerks are to receive: about sixpence per day more, permanent laborers sixpence, signal . stations staff £1 per month per man, senior pilot from £3OO to £4OO, second pilot £3OO to ~£350, third pilot £270 to £3OO. The harbormaster is to receive £550, with annual increments of £25 till £6OO is reached. The minimum wage of permanent laborers ds now fixed at- 8s (xl per day. .The chairman said the Board recognised that the cost of living had increased.
