Five thousand competitors, representing twenty-two countries, were present at the Stadium at the Fra neo-British exhibition for the Olympic games, the Council’s reception marking the inauguration of the meeting. In the Olympic lawn tennis contests ltitchic’ (Britain) won the gold medal. Many leading players did not compete. The United States team, using a short Springfield rifle, won the international Olympic competition, fired at Bislev, with a score of 2531 points; England (Lee-Enfield rifle), second, 2496; Canada (Lee-Enfield), third, I 2439.
