THE MAYOR’S LOAN PROPOSALS OVERSEER ESTIMATES COST AT £30,000. Tho Borough Overseer (Ilf. V. Morgan), meting upon instructions from tho Council, yesterday handed the Mayor <M.r. W. D. Lysnnr) an exhaustive report on th 0 cost of putting the streets and footpaths of the town of Gisborne, and the suburbs ol Whataupoko and Kaiti, into thorough repair by the expenditure of Joan moneys to th 0 amount of £30,085. Tho Mayor’s proposals assume that onco the roadways are properly formed and metalled,' their maintenance and the interest and sinking fund on tho loin should bo paid out of rates. Tho Mayor has called a special mooting of the Council for Friday evening to discuss tho report.
