POTATOES. As anticipated in tho “Times” on Tuesday last, potatoes have advanced in price in tlio South by 10s per ton, and are quoted locally at from £7 5s to £7 10s ]>er ton. At the wool silos the demand was animated for .all sorts at yesterday’s level. Tlie sales included ICawarn 17Jd, Aniiandnle fljd, Blackhead 9|d. The wheat market is firm,. the- .prices being 6d dearer. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., are to-day in receipt of the following cablegram from their London office re wool: “Prices are from par to 5 per cent, higher for greasy merino lambs, fine greasy crossbred, and fine crossbred slipe; 5 per cent, higher for coarse scoured crossbred, coarse crossbred slipe, medium crossbred slipe, medium scoured crossbred; 5. per cent, to 71 per cent.'higher for merino, medium and inferior, scoured merino super, coarse greasy crossbred, medium greasy crossbred; 7$ to 10 percent, higher for greasy crossbred lambs. Sates progress firmly.”
