PRODUCE. Prices for produce remain unchanged excepting potatoes, which have risen £1 per ton within a week. The wet weather has caused considerable damage to tho stocks stored in pits, and a shortage of supplies is anticipated. The -following are the wholesale prices in Gisborne for the following produce : Flour £ll 10s (sUcks) to £l2 10s 501 b bags. Chaff, best Canterbury, £7 to £7 10s. Potatoes £7 to £7 10s for fair quality: best “Up-io-iLite” to £9 per toil. Onions 14s cwt. Oats 3s bushel. Butter Is Id to Is 3d, eggs Is 6d to Is 9d, cheese Old, bacon 9d, hams lOd. honey 4Jd. Messrs Miller and Craig report the following prices at their produce sale on Saturday:—Roosters 2s 4d to 2s (id, hens Is 8d to 2s 7d, turkeys (is Od to 7s 9d, guinea- fowls 2s 3d. eggs Is 9d doz, butter lOd to Is Id, honey 4) to sd, pumpkins 3s 3d doz, leeks 7d doz, turnips Is 3d doz, parsnips Is bag, lettuce 6d doz, demons 4d to 6d doz, cauliflowers 3s doz and 4s 9d sack, potatoes 3s (id bag and 11s Gd sack, onions' lfd to ljd lb. pickling onions 2d lb, 6eed potatoes $d to lb, apples 10s case, tea (bulk) lid to Is Id lb, tinned .fruit 10s doz.

Wool: Merinos are very firm, crossbreds being occasionally in favor of the buyers. Tho sales included A whoa Otamoiiri 71d, and Marathon 21d. Frozen Meat: Sheep. Canterbury, none offering; South Island, unchanLambs, Canterbury, light s|d, medium ojd, heavy' old; Southland s|d, North Island old. Beef, forequarters 2|d, hindquarters 4d. ltiver Plate sheep, heavy 3|d, light 3£d; beef, forequarters' 2jd, hindquarters 3 l-3d. The total wheat and flour afloat is 1,745,000 ; Continent 1,020,000, Atlantic shipments 280,000, and Pacific 13,000 quarters. Quotations nominally are: Canterbury -Id, North Island 3|d, River Plate 3Jd. The lamb market is steady. Canterbury brands s|d, other than Canterbury SJ. The beef market is quiet, the demand falling off. The butter market is very firm, with good demand. The butter by the Turakina arrived in good condition, and found, a market at an average pr.ico of 116:> per cwt. The cheese market is steady, .but without animation. New Zealand white makes 626, colored 59s per cwt. The hemp market is depressed. Following are current quotations: Good fair grade on spot £26, failgrade on spot £23, fair current Manila on spot £22. ' The wool market is firm, with a hardening tendency. The hop market us dull. Very little business is doing. MINING. Mr. AV.
