CANTERBURY CHAMPIONSHIPS. [Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, July 28. Tho Canterbury boxing championships, under tho auspices of the Christchurch Sports Club, opened last night. The results were: Bantam: R. Heatley heat H. McCahon, J. Parker beat AI. O’Connell, and AY. Alidglcy beat G. Judge; semi-final, Parker beat Heatley.. Featherweight: Flnrio beat Alangin, E. Gundrv beat J. Young, and H. Bennett beat A. Hall. Middle-weight :J. Finlay beat F. A. Jones, A. Chick beat A. Birch. Light-weights: C. H. Young beat F. Turner. The finals of the Canterbury boxing championships were decided to-night as follows:— Banitam-weight: YY. Alidgley heat G. Parker. Featherweight: E. G'undry beat H. Bennett. Middle-weight: A. Chick beat T. Jackson. Heavy-weight: J. Cross beat J. Shaiv.
