The holidays will commence on August 14th and terminate on Friday, August 28th for the following schools: 'Gisborne D)H. School. Kaiti, Mangapapa, Alakanri, Alatawhcro. Waorenga-a-hiku, Ormond, Kaiteratwhi, To Kanaka, Whataitutu, Patuta'lii, To Aral, and Aluriwai. 2. Tlie following schools will close either on AVednesdav. Auiaust 12tli. or TQuirsdoy, the 13th, so that the teachers may reach Gisborne by coach or traiin not later (than Saturday, August 15t.h : Alohaka,. Wairoa. Frasertowu, rlii'haka, Manga-one. Tini.roto. AloibAlotu, Il'akauroa, Tologa Bay, AA aimata. AVigan, Tokomaru Bav, To Pula, Waipiro Biy\ and Port Awanui. These schools will re-open on September 2nd.

Each teacher 'must provide for his own accommodation during, attendance at rthe classes, hut the amount expended In conveyance to and from Gisborne will be refunded on condition that full attendances at classes and lectures -are made. Should “leave of absence” be required from a class, application must be made to Mr. Inspector Smith, who will certify as to each teacher's claim for a refund.
