Admiral Sperry, of the American squadron, was in Wellington forty years ago,-at tho -time of tho Maori wars. He says he remembers Sir George Grey as Governor, Mr. H. Kelly leaves Wellington for Svdney to-morrow (says a Press Association wire) to represent the New Zealand -Rugby Union in respect to its A '"ancial interests in the tour of the Aiiglo-Webh team in Australia. ~ , ~ The marriage- of Mr. Hector McBeath and Miss Eva Robb was celebrated by the Hey. W. Grant at tho residence of tho bride’s mother, Berry Street, yesterday. Tho bridesmaids wore Misses Mildred and Emily McBoath, while Mr. J. Peach acted as best man and Mr. H. Ennor as groomsman. The honeymoon will be spent in / -‘Viand.
