Ideal weather conditions prevailed mi Saturday afternoon, and there worn a largo number of players out on the links. All those who intend entering for the championship tournament, wliich_ starts on Saturday next, took the opportunity of getting in practice for the big event. Among those out were F. .11. W. Traill. G. AVilloc'k, J. H. .Bull. Howie, F. AY. Nolan, W. R. Barker, AV. F. J. Anderson, G. Grant, S. Murray, AV. L. Coleman, N. G. Gloss ford, R. Barker, A. T. Coleman, W. B. AVillock, Dr. Sampson, 11. Barker, and AV. Gibson. Quite a largo number of lady players were also out, and the links presented an animated appearance during the afternoon. Afternoon tea was provided by Airs. Stephenson and Miss Nolan. On Friday last the ladies’ club held a bogey competition. Miss F. Adams, who was on scratch, proved the winner, with a splendid record o? 5 up. Miss L. Barker (handicap 22) was the winner of the B division, with 3 down. Tlio following were tho best cards: Miss F. Adams (scr) 5 lip, Airs. Barlow (1) 1 down, Airs. Traill (11) 1 down, Miss Sweet (1) 1 down, Airs, Cole (7) 2 down, Airs AV. R. Barker (7) 3 down, Miss L. Barker (22) 3 down.' In the scoring round for tlie L.G.U. medal, the committee of the ladies’ club liavo decided that players shall arrange their own days and choose their own, partners. Oil Friday next, the ladies hold a one-club competition, for a trophy donated by Air. C. A. Fenwick.
