BANKRUPTCY.
Tho Deputy-Official Assignee has received tho following statement from Mr. Thomas Pizzoy, who lias boon declared bankrupt:—“When I started business an Oisborno about two vears and lour months ago, I htid £25, which I put into tho business. I do lit first with Mr. Fisher, and paid him as I wont. Tbo business was growing, anil 1 began to niako outside purchases,, hoping to economise. 1 paid as I could. Later on 1 suffered unforsoeu losses. I lost a Court cafio, which cost nu> a lost about £25 over u PU r r °h» fio r vegetables from Mr. - Moods. During last year my shop was twico broken into," and money and goods taken and a good doal _of damage done. I lost, about £25 through those. I have not included m my assets some money that I hope to roccivo from tho Court in respect ot this, but 1 boliovo that part ot it lias already been paid into Court, and will bo available. Recently I Bid some losses owing to bad management, etc. Lately Mr. and Airs. Thomas have boon managing tlio shop for mo, and tho business is pickin<r up. ]3cfore thufc it lintl fallon away by £2 or £3 per week, and I got much further behind. For seven or eight weeks f was under the doctor, and could give no alien'ion lo my business. The iiiimedale causo of my filing was tho issue of a summons against me by m,v hugest creditor. I have not included in my assets (f) a property in Napier, in which 1 claim" in interest. T liave no title io it except that I liave paid mt.es, etc., and received’'rents. It has no selling value. (2) I occupy an acre and a-linlf in Gisborne as a garden, but it is of no value to my estate.” Tliero aro no secured, creditors, and tho unsecured creditors aro as follows: G. Smith Bros. £7 5s fid.' 11. Martin £1 12s 2d. F. tS. Alalcolm and Co. £5, Aliller and Craig £4 11s Sd, Mack roll and Colley 3s (id, Clayton Bros. 12s, Stevenson (blacksmith) £3, A. AV. J. Ahum 12s. N.Z. Clothing Factory 7s lid, G. Wildish £1 18s (kl, J. Fisher £lO, Oxonham (Aberdeen Road) £7 10s. I). McKeagne £2 ss, Gibbons and Co. £1 15s; total, £l9l 2s 9d. The assets are: Stock-in-trade in shop £lO. book debts £3O (estimated to produce £2O), horse land harness £ls, garden tools, etc., total £45 os. Deficiency £145 17s 971.
