CO-OPERATIVE BAKERY.
COMMITTEE’S REPORT.
A meeting of the provisional committee set up by tho meeting of those persons interested in forming a co-op-erative Bakery Society was held yesterday afternoon, when it was decided to place the following report before the meeting to be held in Townley’s Hall to-night That over 800 shares have been applied for, and the number of persons arc willing to increase their application if necessary to ensure success. That tho suggested title be the Civil Service and Citizens’ Co-operative Bakery Society That tho number of shares available for issue be unlimited, and the price of shares be £1 each. That the maximum number of shares that can be held by any one person bo twenty-five. That five provisional directors be appointed, and that tho qualifications for directorship he five shares.
That shareholders receive 5 per cent on their capital after providing for all outgoings, and the balance, if any, to ho divided pro rata on purchases made.
These proposals are of course .subject to the shareholders’ approval. Two established businesses have been offered to the Society. The shareholders will be asked to confirm the provisional committee’s resolution to proceed with registration of the Society at once.
