The visit of tlie American fleet to Auckland lias afforded New Zealand the biggest advertisement it lias ever received in Australia. The Sydney and Melbourne dailies, which reached Christchurch one evening lately contained many columns, giving particulars of New Zealand’s reception to the battleships. On the day following the fleets arrival in Auckland, the Sydney “Daily Telegraph” published a whole page of fleet news, most of it sent by cable message from Auckland, under headings of black letters half an inch long. The “Argus” published about eight columns, together with a block of the vessels. Full details were given even to the items on the programme arranged by the authorities in Auckland for the reception entertainments.
